About Claire
Hi, I'm Claire. An NMC Registered Midwife with a passion for personalised pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. I accessed independent midwifery care for all of my pregnancies. It fundamentally changed me as a person, woman and Mother. So much so that in 2017 I left a long career in Financial services to become a Midwife myself.
I qualified in 2020 and worked for the NHS until leaving in 2025. The majority of my NHS career was spent working alongside passionate Midwives, caring for women and birthing people in labour as a member of a dedicated homebirth and birth centre team. However, I always felt that something was missing. As much as I love caring for people during birth, I always wished I'd got to know people in pregnancy and be there to care for them as they settled into the new normal of caring for their new baby. In short, I wanted to provide the same level of exceptional Midwifery care that I had received, which is why I founded Leeds Independent Midwifery.

Antenatal Care
£2,800
My antenatal care is built around you. Over your pregnancy, I visit you at home offering all routine pregnancy care at a time that fits in with your life. My appointments are unrushed and last at least 2 hours, giving us plenty of time to get to know each other and fully explore your holistic wellbeing and plans for your birth.

I am able to offer care from as early in pregnancy as you wish, and offer a number of flexible packages to meet your needs.

Homebirth Midwifery Care and full pregnancy/postnatal care package
£8,500
I offer Homebirth Midwifery care for clients wishing to birth at home. I will be on call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks of your pregnancy until your baby arrives. To maintain safety, I also arrange for a second Registered Midwife to be present at your birth (though I will be your primary carer throughout).
I have access to full indemnity insurance for homebirths and hold additional qualifications in the following:

Breech Without Borders certified practitioner (including twins master class)

Biomechanics for birth

​​This package is fully inclusive of antenatal and postnatal care.
Postnatal Care
£3,000
My Postnatal care is comprehensive and is there to give you and your baby what you deserve. Time, care and patient Midwifery care all in the comfort of your home.

After the birth of your baby, I visit daily for the first 5 days to check on your recovery, complete wellbeing checks on you/your baby and provide additional support with however you choose to feed your baby. As a qualified newborn examiner, I can complete any screening checks you wish to access for your baby (such as hip/heart screening and the national newborn blood spot screening if you wish).
After 5 days, if all is well, I visit alternate days for a further week and twice weekly thereafter until you are both ready for discharge (usually by week 6). I'm also available on the phone between visits.
